The Act on the Promotion of Ainu Culture, and Dissemination and Enlightenment of
Knowledge about Ainu Tradition, etc. (Law No. 52 of 1997) shall be repealed.

Ainu Culture, and Dissemination and Enlightenment of Knowledge about Ainu Tradition,
etc.)
Article 3
Penal provisions that apply to acts conducted prior to the enforcement of the stipulations
under the preceding article shall remain effective as they were prior to said enforcement.
(Preparatory actions)
Article 4
An entity seeking to obtain the designation as stipulated by Section 1 under Article 20
shall be able to submit such an application prior to the enforcement of this law.
(Delegation by cabinet orders)
Article 8
Interim measures necessary for the enforcement of this law, other than those stipulated
under Article 3 and Article 4 of the Supplementary Provisions shall be decided by cabinet
order.
(Considerations)
Article 9
In the event five years elapse since the enforcement of this law, the Government shall
conduct a consideration on the status of enforcement of the law and shall implement any
measures deemed necessary, based on findings.

Article 1
This law takes on effect on the day specified by the Cabinet order, within the range that
does not exceed two years counted from the date of proclamation.

Article 59
Penal provisions that apply to acts conducted prior to the enforcement of this law shall
